Environmental Controls

Castle Access EDCs set the standard for enterprise grade colocation facilities. Clients can expect only the best in environmental controls and power deployment at all the Castle Access EDCs.
Environmental Controls
In the unlikely event of fire or earthquake, Castle Access EDCs are built with preventative and suppression systems standing by.
Fire System
Castle Access EDC is equipped with state-of-the-art fire detection and suppression systems. Key features include:
• FM-200 gas based fire suppression (available at Castle 01 location);
• Multi-zoned dry pipe;
• Water is dispersed only if a sprinkler head is broken or melted;
• Water discharge is sprinkler head specific. This limits any damage from over spray; and
• VESDA Air-sampling Smoke Detectors work by:
Continually drawing air into a pipe network attached to a detector unit.
Passing the air through a dual stage filter to remove dirt.
Sending the clean air to a laser detection chamber for smoke detection.
Measuring the light scatter caused by any smoke.
Processing the detector signal and presenting the smoke level graphically.
Earthquake
Castle Access EDCs meet or exceed seismic requirements of local building codes. Nonstructural equipment, including cabinets and cages are securely anchored.
